November - December, 2010: Head-on Collision followed by induced coma in ICU.
December 14, 2010: Home from the hospital in a wheelchair.
January 2010: Crutches! Begin swimming again with a full 300 meters to start.
February: One crutch. Back on the bike starting with a recumbant for 10 minutes at a time.
March: Cleared to walk. Back on a 'real' bike on the trainer.
April: Cleared to 'start' running again. Back working with Paulo Sousa as the first stages of getting back to racing form.
May: Lots of incline running to minimize impact at this early stage. Riding hard on the road outside. Swimming 30,000 meters a week.
June: Joined The Triathlon Squad lead by Paulo Sousa as my initial re-immersion back into training physically (and most importantly, mentally) as a professional athlete.
July /August: Training 20-25 hours a week. Surgery to remove the hardware in my tibia and radius. A week to recover and then back in the pool and on the bike. Need to wait 4 weeks to run because the bones were compromised where the screws were removed.
September/October: Cleared to run again. Mileage building begins. Double run days a few times a week commence.
November/December: Running has progresed up to 1.5 hours at a time. The rust is starting to fade. Getting really excited for something called...2012!
